[LISTEN] GHENGAR Builds His Most Innovative World Yet on Debut Album 'REBIRTH'
GHENGAR’s debut album REBIRTH has arrived as the most complete realization yet of the project’s increasingly dark and theatrical creative direction. Across eight tracks, David Crow brings together dubstep, tearout, heavy metal, horror, gaming culture, and live vocals inside a world that feels deliberately interconnected rather than assembled around isolated singles.
This album reflects the transformation GHENGAR has undergone throughout 2026, with Crow pushing the project toward heavier production, more prominent metal influences, and a far greater vocal presence of his own. His screams, growls, and singing voice now sit directly alongside the electronic production, giving REBIRTH a more personal identity than anything previously released under the project.
“'REBIRTH' is GHENGAR in its truest form, a culmination of metal, heavy bass, monsters, and video games finally arriving in its intended format,” Crow explains. “It is an unabashed approach to electronic music, mutating the harsh distortion of detuned guitars with the sharp production of crushing dubstep.”
That vision comes into focus immediately on “LAVENDER CITY” with Usaybflow. Drawing from Pokémon’s Lavender Town mythology, the opener reworks familiar melodic ideas before erupting into tearout and riddim loaded with gaming-inspired effects and vocal samples.
“DEMONS” follows with pounding drums, electric guitar, and Crow’s scream-sung vocals, offering one of the album’s clearest examples of his metaltronic direction.
The references continue to shift as the project unfolds. “DEAD LINE” with BERNZIKIAL leans fully into horror, opening with a ringing phone and Ghostface’s infamous question before moving into crushing dubstep.
“TACTICAL NUKE” turns toward Call of Duty Zombies, weaving chanting, raw metal vocals, gritty bass textures, and recognizable game samples into a track rooted equally in nostalgia and festival intensity.
Elsewhere, GHENGAR and K1N reinterpret Drowning Pool’s “Bodies” through bass house on “BODIES,” while “AUTOPSY BUFFET” with Chassi heads back toward distorted guitars and violent tearout. “CARCASS FLAVORED FARTS” pushes the project’s dark humor and intentionally grotesque personality even further.
The title track provides the album’s final contrast, pairing cinematic drums and melodic vocals with visceral screams before dissolving into piano, spacious effects, and a distorted closing message.
Crow’s hands-on approach extends far beyond the music. He created the album and tour artwork, animated the visualizer used to introduce the REBIRTH tour, and even 3D prints GHENGAR’s masks himself.
That level of control gives the album a rare sense of cohesion, with its music, imagery, character design, and live identity all emerging from the same creative source.
