Belyi and Kirr return with “Calinda,” a groove-forward house release on Attraction Market that leans into nostalgia while pushing toward a more refined, cross-genre sound.

Built around live instrumentation, melodic vocals, and a classic house foundation, the track reflects a creative process rooted as much in spontaneity as it is in intention.

The record began with a moment of reflection. While digging for inspiration, the duo landed on a 1982 track that sparked the initial concept, ultimately leading them to recreate the energy of brass instrumentation through a live saxophone performance.

“We were inspired by the idea of capturing the energy of brass instruments through the saxophone,” they explain, recalling a studio session that quickly evolved into something more dynamic and collaborative.

That session became the foundation of “Calinda.” A live saxophonist was brought in to improvise, resulting in multiple standout takes that shaped the track’s identity.

The addition of vocals followed organically, with a collaborator delivering a performance that matched the emotion and tone the producers were chasing. What started as a loose idea ultimately came together as a cohesive blend of groove, melody, and live energy.

A Balance Between Classic House & Experimental Direction

Sonically, “Calinda” sits at an intersection the duo has been actively exploring. While they experimented with Afro House, Organic House, and other stylistic directions during production, they ultimately landed on a more classic house framework.

The result is a track that feels both familiar and forward-thinking, anchored by a rolling groove and elevated through live elements.

One of the defining aspects of the release is its sense of fluidity. The vocal was not originally planned, emerging instead through improvisation during the session.

That unexpected addition became a central component of the record, reinforcing the track’s organic feel and emotional pull.

“Calinda” also signals a broader shift in direction for Belyi and Kirr. Rather than chasing specific trends, the duo is focused on carving out a distinct identity that blends melodic house with more experimental influences.

Their recent trajectory, including chart success in the Organic House space and international performances, reflects a project that is still evolving but increasingly intentional in its execution.

With “Calinda,” that vision begins to take clearer shape. It is a track built for the dancefloor but grounded in musicality, balancing groove-driven momentum with expressive, live-recorded detail.
