Under Construction Arizona 2022: Chris Lake B2B FISHER Review: Tech House Heaven

| September 09, 2022

Under Construction Arizona 2022: Chris Lake B2B FISHER excelled as a memorable memorial weekend event to begin the summer accompanied by unreleased tracks/IDs and a dance-inducing hypnosis creating an atmosphere of their own kind. At Phoenix Raceway, a sea of people danced in unison and were collectively on the same wave length of euphoria and never-ending dancing for two nights.

Strobe lights and lasers in oceanic blues and sunshine yellow disrupted the darkness. This was an experience that forced everyone to immerse themselves into tech house favorites in the way it was intended to sound: extra basslines and high volume accentuating every sound. Because you can't headbang to tech house, this event called for pure movement and shuffling. Those in VIP were able to party on stage next to every performer, furthering the intimacy of dancing just feet away from the electric duo creating musical magic that spellbound everyone to relish in their favorite tracks. Many attendees wore sunglasses ready for anonymity and escapism. Others dressed in orange fluorescent vests and construction helmets while performers from Relentless Beats' Weird & Wonderful Cast were in cyclops costumes to coordinate with the theme.

Night 1

Ravers could hear "Off Limits" by Joshwa upon entry followed by Loco Dice,  ANNA, and Miane. These tech house supporting acts concentrated on exhibiting their live DJing skills without using tracks from their discography. It caused stimulation for the crowd that anticipated to hear their popular hits. Finally, Chris Lake B2B FISHER (who also goes by "Fish") were the ultimate finale on both nights. The duo played "Nightmares", "A Drug From God", "Free Your Body - Noizu Remix", "400", "Love Is The Answer", and "Yeah The Girls". Between tracks, FISHER would exclaim into the microphone, "We get paid to do this shit" and "It's that time of the night people are feeling fruity!" when the crowd furthered into their irresistible body movements. Having the ability to listen to the live and enhanced bassline in "You Little Beauty", "Ya Kidding", and "It's A Killa", exhilarated the crowd to remain in party-mode. In apparent Chris Lake and FISHER fashion, "LOSING IT" was presented to the crowd as the encore as Chris Lake laid on top of the booth competing leg raises as if he was a cabaret showgirl.

Night 2

SOSA started the party as Cloonee soon teased fans with "The Ciggie" but refrained from playing most popular tracks in the same way as night 1. Hot Since 82 increased the night's sonic heat before Eli & Fur bestowed a dreamy and soft exuberance for the crowd. As many tracks from the previous night from Chris Lake B2B FISHER were repeated, Chris Lake gave FISHER a piggyback ride during "Yeah The Girls". Remaining relentless with the mic, FISHER bluntly told the crowd, “Fuck, this shit gets me horny” and "I fucking love you, Cunts!" as if tech house itself is hedonistic. The crowd began to sway in emotion during Rüfüs Du Sol's, "Innerbloom". The crowd's dancing pace increased again with "Deceiver", and unreleased tracks (now officially released) "Not About You" by Nala, and "MAMI" by Chris Lorenzo and COBRA. The encore of night 2 was the iconic track, "Give Her Right Back" featuring Dances With White Girls.

Professed by the tech house duo themselves, these nights obviously become insane in energy. Under Construction Arizona 2022: Chris Lake B2B FISHER transcended as dessert for ears.
