10 Lineups That Has Us Counting Down The Days Until Festival Season 2017

The new year is here and festival line-ups are dropping left and right. The question still remains, HOW DO I CHOOSE?

We did some investigating and came up with a list of ten festivals with lineups that  that should be on your 2017 calendars.

1. Okeechobee: March 2nd-5th - Okeechobee, FL

Only in its second year, this new festival put on by original Bonnaroo organizers has proved to be worth traveling to Florida for. It's alien jungle-vibes set the tone for a an extraterrestrial tropical paradise. 

It offers a diverse line-up of national and international artists of all genres ranging from alt-rock band Kings of Leon to a special once in a lifetime performance from R&B megastar Usher & The Roots. Bassnectar returns once again as an EDM headliner. Similar to Bonnaroo’s Super Jams, they have the “Pow-Wow Jam” featuring a special set with unannounced artists.

2. Something Wonderful: April 22nd-23rd - Fort Worth, TX

You can expect nothing but good vibes at this recently dropped line-up for Something Wonderful in Fort Worth, Texas. NightCulture and Disco Donnie Presents team up to produce this event that takes place at the Texas Motor Speedway.

The amount of production and feel-good artists ranging from trap to trance are sure to make this trip to Texas one to remember. A few notable headliners include Porter Robinson, DJ Snake, Gareth Emery, and Claude VonStroke

3. BUKU Music & Arts Project: March 10th-11th - New Orleans, LA

This heavy-hitter lineup with a warehouse party vibe brings a variety of genres from dirty south hip-hop to alt-indie and then of course EDM.

You get the full NOLA experience raging the Mardi Gras World warehouses with enormous Mardi Gras floats behind you. Book a hotel in the French Quarter and roam Bourbon Street with a daiquiri during the day, and enjoy legendary NOLA venues for late-night shows after the festival each night.

4. Middle Lands: May 4th-7th - Todd Mission, TX

This renaissance themed festival brought to you by the masterminds behind Electric Daisy Carnival will be taking place in Texas early May.

Game of Thrones fans can rejoice as this will be their time to frolic around castles as knights. Insomniac is changing the festival game and giving us a lineup to gawk over. 

5. Shaky Beats Festival: May 5th-7th - Atlanta, GA

Brought to you by the the masterminds behind Shaky Knees Music Festival, Shaky Beats Music Festival is an EDM version.

The festivals takes over Olympic Centennial Park downtown Atlanta with some of the hottest names right now like recent Grammy winners The Chainsmokers, and not to mention our favorites Kaskade, Griz, Zeds Dead, and Gramatik.

6. Hangout Fest: May 19th-21st - Gulf Shores, AL

If you haven’t heard of Hangout Music Fest or watched the live stream hosted by MTV, this is the year to go check it out.

Rally the troops and bunk up in a condo together for this epic beach party that takes place in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Picture the same between your toes while you jam to Mumford & Sons, and then splashing in the water to some Major Lazer. 

7. Lightning In A Bottle: May 24th-29th - Bradley, CA

Put on by the Burning Man legends Lucent Dossier Experience, Lightning In A Bottle’s performance and art background creates a unique, intimate, and underground style festival.

Taking place Memorial weekend, LIB is a West Coast favorite that is more than just the music offering full days of interactive workshops. LIB just mixed things up a bit with the addition of Bassnectar as a headliner. 

8. Bonnaroo: June 8th-11th - Manchester, TN

Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival should be at the top of every frequent festival goer’s bucket list. This legendary camping festival has been taking place each year for over a decade.

It is a must to check this fest out at least once, and with an artist roster of this caliber from The Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Weeknd and our favorite Flume, 2017 might be the perfect year to make it happen.

9. Sonic Bloom Music Festival: June 15th-18th - Spanish Peaks Country, CO

 

This 4-day festival held in the rolling hills of southern Colorado comes accompanied by art, performance, yoga, dance, workshops. The overall family feel of this festival is not all that makes Sonic Bloom unique.

Fans just got hit with a HUGE first wave for the 2017 lineup including a performance by super group Gigantic Cheese Biscuits (Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salkin of Big Gigantic / Michael Kang, Michael Travis, and Jason Haan of The String Cheese Incident / Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits).

10. Electric Forest: June 23rd-25th and June 29th-July 2nd - Rothbury, MI

Electric Forest returns to the amazing Sherwood Forest yet again, this time fans have the option between TWO weekends.

Both weekends feature four sets from the festival founding band String Cheese Incident and a Saturday night headlining set from resident DJ Bassnectar
