8 Hottest Must-See Acts Live at Imagine 2021
Imagine is bringing an amazing lineup to the inaugural festival at its new home in Chattahoochee Hills. Imagine Festival co-founder Glenn Goodhand says this year's Imagine is "one of the most exciting lineups to date." iEDM has put together a short list of some of the hottest acts to see at Imagine 2021.
Ganja White Night
It is only fitting to begin with one of the newest acts announced for Imagine 2021 opening ceremonies Thursday, Ganja White Night! The Belgian duo may produce one of the most entertaining sets of the weekend. GWN brings awe and excitement on multiple facets with their music, storyline visuals, and pure energy they exude to the crowd.
CloZee
The French composer produces melodic tribal sounds. CloZee has such a calming demeanor on stage while she orchestrates subtle bangers with heavy bass. Her music illustrates a super detailed journey with a pleasant ending. If you've never seen her set and enjoy downtempo vibes, make sure to see CloZee at Imagine!
Black Tiger Sex Machine
My first Imagine experience was volunteering before the festival started in 2016. A fellow volunteer told me I must see Black Tiger Sex Machine if I've never seen them; so glad I took his advice. I've made it a point to catch their sessions at other destinations from Athens, Ga to Lost Lands. Satisfy your curiosity and catch these cats at Imagine as BTSM will be one of the most anticipated sermons of the weekend!
Shpongle Droid
Shpongle (aka Simon Posford) featuring Android Jones is a set you will not want to miss. Shpongle has a unique sound that puts him in his own class as a musician. It's ambient, it's trippy, it's a lot of fun. Android Jones is a world-renowned digital artist who started his career in 2005. Take advantage of this rare collaboration!
Subtronics
Subtronics has made himself a major player for ravers in the EDM world in recent years with his heavy dubstep beats and whacky visuals. He stands alone just fine whether he is headlining a tour or collaborating with other artists for insane tracks/sets. Subtronics is one of few artists performing multiple sets Imagine weekend. Kayzo B2B Subtronics and a Subtronics ("Wooked on Tronics" Set) will be two chances to see the man in action.
Pool Parties
It wouldn't be Imagine without a pool being. Every great pool party starts with five key ingredients: pool(s), music, tasty beverages, snacks, and a wild crowd. This year creators elevated the pool party vibes by adding House artists John Summit and Kaskade. Both artists will be performing their 2nd sets of the weekend.
Wakaan Takeover
Wakaan is becoming one of the leading labels in the EDM industry, thanks in part to fearless leader Liquid Stranger. One of my favorite Imagine moments was during a Liquid Stranger set he simply put on the screen "White People." My buddy and I still laugh about that visual today! With this Takeover ravers get the opportunity to see what Wakaan is all about. The initial list adjusted a bit but the current Wakaan Takeover roster consists of: Liquid Stranger, Champagne Drip B2B LUCZID, Lucii, Shlump, G-REX, Esseks, Sully, and a special Wakaan Family B2B Set. Heads up: the day for this Takeover is yet to be determined. Once it's on the schedule, it's a must-see.
Headliners
The four headliners truly represent the Imagine lineup in a few artists: Excision, GRiZ, Illenium, and Kaskade. The vibes of each artist emulates the rollercoaster of emotions one might experience while attending Imagine. Dubstep, Dance/Electronic, Bass, and Deep House. Personal schedule permitting, at least see a few minutes of each artist.
Be warned, you may have the best day of your life at one of these sets. Imagine may be the first time some of these artists performed live since the pandemic, it may be their first Imagine, etc. Regardless of the reality, all Imagine artists will be there with months of work to blow your mind. So get ready to embark on the aquatic fairytale known as Imagine Music Festival!
