Beach Bonanza in Gulf Shores: Hangout Music Festival

| February 18, 2020

Gulf Shores, Alabama is not the first place that comes to mind when considering beaches in the United States. However, Hangout Music Festival in May always makes Gulf Shores a hot spot to contemplate! Year after year Hangout lineups are dropped with Grammy winners, newcomers to the music scene, along with timeless wonders upon the numerous stages on the beach. Last year Kygo brought out several guests on one of the main stages, one of which was the legendary Jimmy Buffet to sing “Margaritaville”! This year notable EDM acts will take stage in Marshmello, Big Wild, Louis The Child, and Getter, alongside names in other genres like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, T-Pain and more.

Hangout 2020 is bringing some heat to the beach for ravers far and near. With over 20 EDM acts on the lineup this year there is something for all welcoming ears to Electronic music. From the feels of acts like Illenium and Jai Wolf to straight filth composed by RL Grime and Whipped Cream there is an impressive variety of beats from the different realms of EDM. Whether it is sprinkling on you under the Boom Boom Tent, getting funky in the Malibu Beach House, or getting down and dirty in the Monster Beach Club, Hangout’s EDM acts always know how to start a party.

Aside from the music, Hangout has added more activites each year. The Hangout Restuarant functions year round and lies in the middle of the grounds. Chillin by the sea at Hammock Beach is always relaxing. Overlook the festival while riding the Ferris Wheel. A Wedding Chapel is available if you want to get married. Lastly one of my favorite ways to start a Hangout day is to attend Yoga on the beach! Even if it's just grabbing a bite to eat and walking around, Hangout has plenty to offer for all ages.

Hangout 2020 is SOLD OUT! For those who were lucky enough to score tickets to Hangout this year, you are in for a sand filled treat. With the amount of EDM acts performing, you would be crazy not to check out at least a few artists. Make sure to plan your travel and lodging accommodations as May is just around the corner. Shuttle passes are available for those not in walking distance as well as some lodging ideas on the Hangout website. No shoes, no shirts, see you on the beach!

His first music festival was Counterpoint 2014 and he hasn’t looked back since. He prefers diverse music festival lineups. With a compiling keychain of festival wristbands, he experiences at least one new music festival a year. His nomadic ways have brought him many friends and opportunities along his journey.

He has become a sponge in the EDM community and favors artist like Zeds Dead, Rufus du Soul, and Excision. Always willing to hear new music!
