Nocturnal Wonderland 2022 Celebrates 27 Years of America's Longest-Standing Rave With Nostalgix, Dr. Fresch, + More

| August 25, 2022

Nocturnal Wonderland is set to return to Glen Helen Regional Park and Amphitheater on September 17th and 18th for the 27th edition of America’s longest-standing rave. As Insomniac’s first recurring festival, Nocturnal Wonderland offers stunning art installments, ample space for a full-fledged camping experience, and dance music history that permeates its awe-inspiring atmosphere each year. Insomniac welcomes you to come celebrate 27 years of dancing in the dark!

In year’s past, camping has been one of the standout aspects of Nocturnal Wonderland due to its gorgeous layout, variety of lodging options, and activities. The camp offers tent, car, RV, waterfront, and lakeside accommodations where guests can spend the weekend walking-distance from the main stages. Daytime activities consist of yoga, meditation, crafts, dancing, pool parties, and more. Nighttime features a pre-party on Friday night and silent discos on Saturday and Sunday until 5 am, since the festival must end at midnight due to local laws.

Nocturnal Wonderland consistently offers masterfully curated house and bass lineups every year. Although techno and hardstyle are usually omitted, this year’s lineup does not leave much room for disappointment with headliners such as Dillon Francis, Yellow Claw, Adventure Club, Illenium, Rezz, Ganja White Night, Doctor P, Liquid Stranger, Sullivan King, and many more. This particular group of widely revered names in bass music are sure to deliver a weekend packed with top-tier talent. Up-and-coming artists to look out for this year include Hi I’m Ghost, Jack Beats+Taiki Nulight Present: Reel Mood, Nostalgix, and Grlskout. This small group of riddim and house selects will bring their energy to simultaneously rival and compliment their headlining counterparts.

In addition, many acts that will fall into the body of the lineup are projected to be some of the most exciting performances of the weekend. In particular, Moksi, Must Die! b2b Tisoki, Blanke, DJ Hanzel [Dillon Francis], Dr. Fresch, SAYMYNAME, and Eliminate each have the potential to shock the audience with their booming discography and abundant talent. If time and scheduling permits, guests are encouraged to explore the festival grounds as much as possible to get the full experience of this breathtaking lineup. Nocturnal Wonderland offers a great opportunity to check large artists off bucket lists and the freedom to discover dozens of new favorites.

Nocturnal Wonderland is one of Insomniac’s most popular and unique events attributable to the location, layout, and regulations. Glen Helen Regional Park is arguably the most beautiful venue in Southern California with the perfect amount of space for a large festival featuring camping on-site. However, the space available may pose a threat to customer attributable because the demand for camping sites is very high, making these particular tickets tough to acquire. Nevertheless, it is well-worth the effort to elevate the entire experience.

Contrary to Insomniac’s other large festivals which host 5-8 large stages, Nocturnal typically features three stages. Although optics may suggest Nocturnal Wonderland is smaller than its peers, this assumption is far from the truth. The terrain of Glen Helen adequately fits fewer stages with the ability to set forth Insomniac’s high standards for production and sound quality. The smaller venue allows attendees to make less sacrifices when deciding which sets to attend, dart between stages efficiently, and subsequently witness a large portion of the lineup. Lastly, local regulations require the main event to end at midnight as a compromise effort between event organizers and residents in the area. This is likely one of the earliest endings of any dance music events in the region, but grants much more flexibility for campers. Camping can be an exhausting ordeal, and the early timeline adjusts for those who prefer to sleep earlier. Many tent campers tend to rise early in the morning due to the hot September sun, and will be able to achieve a full rest if needed. Nocturnal Wonderland mitigates any possible night-owl disappointment by running silent discos into the sunrise after the festival. The silent disco is a unique experience, uncommon at any other event. The party continues on without bothering those sleeping nearby, and allows attendees to rest or dance on their own schedule. Silent disco lineups have not been announced at this time, but will likely feature artists on the main lineup as well as many new faces. Buy your tickets HERE!
