DJ Khaled Claims EDC Sabotaged His Set And EDC Responds

| June 21, 2017

Last weekend, hundred of thousands EDM fans gathered in Las Vegas for the rave of the year, EDC.

It seems every year has some EDC drama. Last year, a stage caught on fire and Marshmello pranked us all by unveiling his mask as Tiesto.

This year’s drama was all about hip-hop producer DJ Khaled.

Is it coincidental that his new album "Grateful" drops this Friday or was this one big publicity stunt?

According to DJ Khaled’s instagram, EDC sabotaged his set. See below:

 Of course the internet responded.

Deadmau5 gave his two cents and followed up with wondering what it is DJ Khaled actually does.

DJ Khaled is not traditionally called an EDM producer, in fact, he mostly helps produce hip-hop and has collaborated with the biggest names in the rap world from Lil Wayne to Kanye West.

Marshmello chimed in on the fun after his EDC set, which overlapped with DJ Khaled. He said, “I miss California already,” in response to DJ Khaled shouting out Cali and playing California Love when the event actually takes place in Las Vegas.

Here is a video from someone in the crowd claiming DJ Khaled was booed off stage.

EDC founder and Insomiac CEO Pasquale Rotella made a statement about the incident to Rolling Stone.

"Due to technical difficulties beyond DJ Khaled and Insomniac's control, Khaled was not able to perform at his scheduled time on Sunday night at EDC," EDC founder Pasquale Rotella told Rolling Stone.

"He arrived on time and ready to rock the crowd, but equipment issues delayed the performance. Even though there were technical difficulties, he still got onstage and showed his fans love," Rotella said.

Regardless of what actually caused the issues, DJ Khaled still hopped on stage and played a set that only lasted about 15 minutes and still had a crowd of thousands of people.

"We the best!" -DJ Khaled
