[EVENT PREVIEW] Bassrush's Latest Festival to Invade Southern California this November

Insomniac Events' newest themed festival is on the horizon and ready to infect the Southern California bass music scene on November 24 + 25, 2023. Apocalypse Zombie Land is exactly as the title suggests – an apocalyptic zombie-themed horror fest with a heavy-hitting bass music lineup at its core.

Immediately following Dreamstate SoCal at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, Apocalypse will have a wonderful foundation for success, but large shoes to fill.

Apocalypse Zombie LandThe inspiration for Apocalypse Festival seems to come at the heels of the success of solely bass-focused festivals in recent years, particularly Forbidden Kingdom hosted by Pepe Vargas and Insomniac Events in Florida. Although bass music festivals have existed for several years, one of these events has yet to establish itself in Southern California.

Notably, without the 2023 iteration of Project Z, Bassrush and Basscon have divided into two solo festivals that will each be larger than their collaborative sum.

Bassrush's Apocalypse will not only focus on dubstep and its subgenres, but also remain on par with the expanding American scene by adding a massive percentage of drum 'n' bass artists to the schedule.

The later time slots are likely to be occupied by Excision (2 sets), Kai Wachi b2b Kompany, Sullivan King, Wooli, Barely Alive, Funtcase, Blanke, Ghastly presents Ghengar, Diesel, and Infekt.

Longtime dubstep favorites Adventure Club, Kill the Noise, Rusko, Zeds Dead, Virtual Riot, and Zomboy will make their exciting appearances throughout the later hours of the festival as well.

Apocalypse Festival will attract the largest space bass fans in the USA with the inclusion of Liquid Stranger, Of the Trees, Chee, Superave., Green Matter, Smith., Peekaboo, and G Rex.

Purveyors of the evolving trap music sound such as Yellow Claw, Tisoki, Montell2099, and Eliminate will all throw down between their dubstep counterparts.

Drum 'n' bass headliners are likely to include Netsky, Sub Focus, and Kanine. DnB powerhouses Alix Perez, Reaper, Camo & Krooked, Andy C, Kumarion, and more will electrify the waterfront grounds all night.

Last but certainly not least, up-and-coming talent to watch out for will be Bou, Xotix, Slang Dogs, Chef Boyarbeatz, GorillaT, HEYZ, Koven, Rated R, Point.Blank, Emorfik, Ruvlo, Hedex, LAYZ, Shanghai Doom, and 1991

Candidly, the Bassrush team outdid themselves with this overwhelmingly boisterous lineup. Ticket holders should arrive early to avoid missing out on any sets, because both days will be jam-packed with incredible talent from beginning to end.

The largest concern regarding a lineup of this caliber is heartbreaking scheduling conflicts, however many fans will be appreciative to know that a large portion of the artists will be playing a second time within the afterparties, booming until 4AM aboard the Queen Mary both days. Those who attend the afterparties will have the luxury of attending at least one set by most of their favorite artists with diligent planning.

Although the Queen Mary venue is wonderful, parking can be a challenge if plans are not solidified ahead of time. Attendees are strongly encouraged to use rideshare services or purchase parking in advance, then walk to the shuttle area near the Lincoln Park in Downtown Long Beach.
