What We Loved about Electric Zoo: 2019 Recap

| September 09, 2019

Another year, another Ezoo down! New York City's longest-running and largest electronic music festival —Electric Zoo— returned to the big apple for its biggest and most successful year since 2013. Celebrating its 11th anniversary on Labor Day Weekend, August 30 - September 1, Ezoo 2019 attracted over 107,000 fans to Randalls Island and certainly lived up to its hype. Here's what we loved about Electric Zoo: Evolved.

Music for Everyone

This year's Ezoo had not only a stacked lineup, but also a roster that spanned a spectrum of sub-genres. Event attendees were truly able to explore and enjoy electronic music of all types with over 50 international DJs hailing from dubstep to trance to house and more. Over the three nights of festivities, Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, Dog Blood, Diplo, Afrojack, and Armin Van Buuren put on headlining performances to remember for the ages. There's also nothing more unforgettable than witnessing a beautiful sunset set by the likes of Kaskade, ZEDD and Alison Wonderland on Ezoo's mainstage.

Stage Takeovers: All My Friends, Pryda Arena, Gud Vibrations and more

The next thing we loved was the massive stage takeovers by some of our favorite DJs. The stage takeovers made it easy to immerse yourself in the vibes of each stage; whether that was bass bangers, house beats or techno and progressive leaning styles, we had a blast seeing both up-and-coming acts take the spotlight with our most beloved.  All My Friends head-honcho Destructo hosted Ezoo's inaugural AMF stage for three consecutive days, packing the iconic party with sets from Malaa, Anti Up, Camelphat, Walker & Royce, Wax Motif, and Nora En Pure. Eric Prydz also hosted his own stage, Pryda Arena with hot talent including Ben Bohmer, Cristoph, Yotto, Joris Voorn, Green Velvet, and a second-day performance by none other than himself. Meanwhile, Slander and NGHTMRE took over Hilltop Arena with their Gud Vibrations stage which brought the bass with acts like Wavedash, Whipped Cream, 1788-L and GTA.

25+ Food Options

This year's Ezoo food options were as plentiful and diverse as the music options. Our go-to is always Big Mozz for their gigantic and mouth-watering mozzarella sticks. Attendees also enjoyed staples like Mighty Quinn's BBQ, Stuffed Ice Cream, Wowfulls and Ponti Rossi Pizza.

The Kia Soul Human Car Wash

We got fantastic festival weather at Ezoo 2019 and the sunny weather meant cooling off at the Kia Soul human car wash would be extra satisfying. Attendees got to walk through bubbly suds and witness live interviews with performers hosted by SiriusXM.

The Killer Looks

Last, but not least, we loved the looks that Ezoo attendees served up. Festivals are the time to express your fashion at its prime and this year's festival-goers brought their A game.

Electric Zoo will return in 2020 to Randalls Island in NYC. We hope everyone had an amazing time at the Zoo, see you there next year!
